Weekly Update for September, 12th, 2016
Greetings and Welcome Back!
We had a fast-paced and exciting first week of school here at Lynch. I had the chance to see many of you the first few mornings and can't express enough how happy I was to have families and the children back in the building. Even though the summer goes by so quickly I am always amazed at how much the students have grown!
We had our first All-School Meeting (ASM) on Friday morning. This is my chance to meet with the students as a community and discuss themes, upcoming events or presentations from community members. Our focus Friday was what it takes to be a true "Lynchie." This is a nickname we use for anyone and everyone connected to Lynch. Students were asked how we want to feel at school AND how we should treat each other. Some examples from students were; Included, important, respected, safe and happy were. We will use those words as part of our ASM's vocabulary as we progress through the year.
At the end of this week's ASM we showed our students that yes, even us educators can have some fun when they are not in the building during the summer! Most of the Lynch faculty was able to show off their dancing and lip-syncing skills for a welcome back music video. If you missed it, we will show it again in the cafeteria at Curriculum Night and post on the school website.
