Weekly Update 11/9/15 Edition

News for the week of November 9th, 2015

I hope the previous week of some warm weather found you outside and able to enjoy being active - raking, walking or playing with the kids. I know for me, the lack of sunlight later in the afternoon is a downer. The countdown to March 5th is already on when we spring back ahead one hour and can go jog in the late afternoon sunlight again.

Notes:

- Please know that the rule for morning drop-off is no earlier than 8:15am. We do not have supervision for students prior to 8:15am. Once here, students should report to the dining room (grades K, 1 & 5) or the gymnasium (grades 2, 3, 4).
When you drop your child off, please also remind them that the playground is off limits.

(If you are here to supervise your child, they may use the playground before school)

- Dr. Evans (Winchester Superintendent of Schools) and I were guest judges for the annual Winchester Rotary Chili Cook-Off this past Saturday night.

Please join us as we salute our Veterans!

  • Who? All students & parents of the Winchester Elementary Schools (Ambrose, Lincoln, Lynch, Muraco and Vinson Owen). Assistant Principal -  Mrs. Phelan will represent Lynch Elementary with our students.
  • What? We will walk as a school holding the Lynch banner. Parents/caregivers should plan to walk in the parade with their children, for safety.
  • Where? We will meet at Winchester High School parking/campus.
  • When? Wednesday, November 11, 2014  at 9:50 a.m.
  • Why? Each elementary school is participating to recognize, honor and give thanks to our veterans by taking part in the Veteran's Day Parade. We would like to remind our children of how fortunate we are to have courageous people who have served and are serving in the military to preserve our freedom. Did you know that our school, Lynch Elementary, was named in honor of Robert and Andrew Lynch, brothers who were killed in action in the Philippines and Germany respectively?
We hope you can join us on this special occasion!

To finish up, I wanted to include some sights of Lynchies from Halloween. Enjoy...
