Weekly Update November 16th Edition

News for the week of November 16th, 2015

A few notes from the previous week:

- Kudos and appreciation to Mrs. Phelan for leading a large group of Lynchies through the streets of Winchester during the annual Veteran's Day Parade. As mentioned in previous places - our school is named after two WWII Veteran's. Robert and Andrew Lynch both passed away while defending our country many years ago. The day is a special one for our school and the community.
We also would like to recognize one of our 5th grade Lynchies who gave a thoughtful speech at the ceremony inside the Town Hall preceding the parade.

I will update the blog with some pictures from the parade on Monday morning.

- We have begun the Great Can Round-Up at Lynch. Please send in any cans for collection. We will have a recycling container marked in the cafeteria just for this program. The Round-Up is a state-wide contest in which Lynch has WON FOUR years in a row for collecting the most cans! Lynch Mom - Mrs. Joanna Alexander was kind enough to help kick this event off at our All-School meeting Friday morning (11/13). This accomplishment for Lynch brings in $1000 which goes towards enrichment programs.

- A reminder that we do not have supervision for students who arrive prior to 8:15am. We still have a number of students being dropped off before this time. Please do your best to drop off as close to the 8:15 as possible. Once here, students are to report to the dining room or gymnasium depending on their grade and NOT use the playground - which is not supervised.

Until next week, we wish you a pleasant week ahead.
