Weekly Update for December 7, 2015

News for the week of December 7th, 2015

Greetings! With the Thanksgiving holiday past us, we are full swing into December and looking to an action packed few weeks ahead.

I would like to highlight that next week is National Inclusion Week. This week is annually celebrated by Lynch school.
This is a celebration near and dear to our school community. I like to think that Lynch has set the example long before I arrived in the building as to how to be inclusive. Some of the most well-rounded and appreciative students that graduate from high school are from Lynch. Respectful, understanding and accepting are just a few of the qualities I see each year from former Lynchies.

At our most recent All-School assembly we kicked off the theme of being special. We asked the students to think about themselves. What "gift" do they bring to school each day? Students will complete the sentence, "My gift is......."

These gifts will then be posted in our main hallway as we celebrate National Inclusion Week.

As we left our meeting as a school community on Friday morning I challenged the students to make a point that if they walked past someone in the hallway during the day to smile and say hello. Just a small gesture as that can brighten someone's day and let them know - we all care for each other at Lynch.

Thank you to Mrs. Phelan, Mrs. Flaherty and Mrs. Bove for behind the scene work leading up to this important week.
