Weekly Update for January 18th, 2016
I hope you all are enjoying the long weekend. In honoring Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.'s birthday this weekend we had Mrs. Wilkerson's Pre-School class, kindergarten students, grade two and grade five classrooms submit wonderful artistic pieces to the Winchester Multicultural Network. These items will be on display for the Winchester Community on Monday 1/18 from 3-5pm in the Metcalf Hall at the Unitarian Church.
Thank you to our students and teachers for taking time to put together such creative pieces for a very important day in our country. Below is one of our 5th grade video submissions in honor of Dr. King Jr.

On Friday morning at our All-School meeting we kicked off the annual Lynch Reading Incentive. our theme this year is -"Characters Come to Life at Lynch." This 7 week program helps reinforce our love for reading and its importance. Students are asked to record the amount of reading done at home AND at school. The incentive comes at the end of the 7 weeks with a Lynch Reading Night celebration. This evening will be on Thursday, March 3rd.
We have released our MCAS dates for late March and early April (please see my 12/21 blog post for those dates). Below are the dates for the math portion (and Grade 5 Science MCAS).
