Weekly Update for November 7th, 2016
Two quick notes as we run full steam ahead into November.....
Professional Day for Winchester Teachers on Tuesday 11/8:
While our students will be away from the classrooms on Election Day, all Winchester educators WILL be in classrooms as students. A large selection of workshops and seminars are being offered. Many of these sessions are led by Winchester teachers, while others are from experts outside of the district. Youth Mental Health, Everyday Math, Daily 5 Literacy, Using Chromebooks in the Classroom are just a few of the 46 (!) different offerings. Not many area school districts are able to offer such rich professional development to their teachers. A hearty kudos and thank you to Winchester Assistant Superintendent, Dr. Jennifer Elineema and central office team for organizing a great day for our educators.
For Parents of Students in Grades 3-5:
MCAS Next-Generation Testing Dates for Spring 2017
Below are testing dates for Lynch only. The state testing window runs from early April to late May. The Winchester elementary schools are setting dates for the spring. Some testing may fall on the same days within the 5 elementary schools, while some will be on different dates. Again, the below dates are for Lynch ONLY.
