Weekly Update for October 24th, 2016

Greetings,

We were happy to have a full week of school here at Lynch. Teachers and students (and families) need and enjoy routine. Now that the "newness" of the school year has naturally dissipated, we are in full swing and routines are set and important.

This upcoming week brings us the first round of parent-teacher conferences (Please make sure you have signed up for a meeting time).
As we approach conferences always keep in mind that the success of our children is largely due to a team approach. There is never truly one person in charge of teaching and learning. Students are processing information minute by minute, seven days a week. You have been with your child daily for many, many years. Your view and insight is vital to not only your child's success, but your child's teacher. You know your child's strengths, weaknesses, passions outside of school. Our teacher's need that information and very much respect your thoughts. Equally, you need your teacher's level of expertise in education. Teachers are just as invested in caring for, challenging and providing the best learning environment possible. They see and observe your child in a much different setting than at home or in the neighborhood. Trust their opinions and thoughts. And as a parent, I know that how my children at home behave can be quite the opposite as to how they behave at school!

So when you walk into your meeting this week with the teacher(s), keep in mind that we are a team. Most importantly, the SAME team - our children's!

All my best,

Mr. Dupuis
